Baked Crispy Pork (หมูกรอบ)

Hello there,
This baked Crispy pork recipe is easy to make. Normally we boil pork first  and fry it.
In Thailand we eat crispy pork with dipping sauce or stir fry in different dishes. 


Ingredients :
2 pounds of Pork belly (skin on).
1 Tbsp of salt

Directions :
1. Score pork skin any way you like.
2. Rub with salt at let it sit for 1 hour.
3. Use paper towel to pat dry.
4. Put in 350 degree oven with skin side down, bake for 1 hour.
5. Flip to skin side up put in boiler for 10 minutes on high.
6. Let it cool down and cut into pieces.
7. Serve with dipping sauce or put in other dishes.

Pad See-Eaw (ผัดซีอิ้ว)

Hello everyone,
 This recipe is one of my favorite noodle dishes. If you like spicy put some roasted chili pepper powder on top. Yum.

Ingredients :
1. 1/4 pound of flat rice noodles.
2. 2 cups of Chinese broccoli
3. 1/4 pound thin slices of pork or beef or chicken (or shrimp).
4. 1 Tbsp of soy sauce
5. 1 clove of chopped garlic
6. 1 tsp of sugar
7. 1 tsp of fish sauce (can be substitude with soy sauce).
8. 1 Tbsp of veg.oil
9. A pinch of white pepper powder.
10. 1-2 eggs.

Directions :
1. Put oil in a wok or big pan, add meat and garlic, and cook until half done.
2. Add noodles and chinese broccoli, cook for 1 minute with medium high heat.
3. Add soy sauce, sugar, fish sauce and stir until combined. Set on the side of the pan.
4. Add egg to the other side of the pan and cook until egg is cooked.
5. Mix them all together and serve by sprinkling pepper powder on top. Enjoy!
 Serving for 2.

Sour mustard green soup (ต้มผักกาดดองกระดูกหมู)

Hello everyone,
I'm posting this recipe that my grandma used to cook for me when I was a kid.



Ingredients :
1. 1 pound of pork spare rib cut to bite size.
 2. 1 pack of sour mustard greens.
3. 1/2 gallon of water
4. 1 Tbsp chicken seasoning (Knorr)
5. 1 Tbsp soy sauce
6.  A pinch of black pepper
7. 3 cloves of smashed garlic.

 Directions :
1. Cut sour mustard greens to bite size and wash with warm water a few times and squeeze the water out.
2. Put water in a pot. Bring to a boil.
3. Add all ingredients. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes untill pork is tender.
4. Serve with white rice. Enjoy!.

Baked herb chicken (ไก่อบสมุนไพร)

Ingredients :
1. 2 pounds of chicken (I use leg quarter).
2. 5 cloves garlic.
3. 1Tbsp cilantro. (I used stem only).
4. 1 tsp whole peppercorn.
5. 2 Tbsp. lemongrass.
6. 1 tsp curry powder.
7. 1 Tbsp. kaffir lime leaf cut to small pieces.
8. 1/2 tsp funnel seed.
9. 3 Tbsp soy sauce.
10. 1 Tbsp sugar.
11. 1/2 tsp of salt.

Directions :
1. In the mortar and pestle, put garlic, cilantro, whole peppercorn, lemongrass, curry powder, kaffir lime leaf, and funnel seed.  Make rough paste, and set aside.
2. In a ziplock bag put in chickens, mixed paste, kaffir lime leaf, soy sauce, sugar,
and salt. Marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
3. Bake in 350 degree oven for 1 hour, cut and serve with sticky rice and papaya salad. Yum!!

Winged bean salad (Yum - tua - poo) ยำถั่วพู

   I went to a Vietnamese store and got winged beans. My grandma used to grow them along the fence in Thailand.



Ingredients :
1. 2 cups cut Winged beans. 
2. 1/4 cup cooked ground pork.
3. 1/4 lb cooked shrimp.
4. 1 Tbsp. sugar
5. 2 Tbsp. fish sauce
6. 3 Tbsp. lime juice
7. 1 Tbsp. roasted chili paste
8. 1/4 cup evaporated milk
9. 2 Tbsp. shallots, sliced to pieces
10. 1 tsp. chopped garlic
11. 1 tsp. chopped Thai chili pepper
12. 1 Tbsp. chopped cilantro

Directions :
1. Blanch whole winged beans in boiling water and put in ice water to stop the cooking, then cut into small pieces. Set aside.
2. In a big bowl mix all ingredients until well combined then serve. Enjoy!

Fried Mussles (Hoy Tod) หอยทอด

I'm posting this recipe for somebody that likes mussles. This recipe is easy and tasty. In Thailand you can find this kind of food everywhere.



Ingredients :
1. 1/2 cup Mussles
2. 1/2 cup tempura flour (แป้งทอดกรอบ)
3. 2 Tbsp corn flour
4. 1/2 cup water
5. 1/2 tsp soy sauce
6. 1 egg.
7. 2 Tbsp of oil
8. 1 cup beensprouts.
9. A pinch of garlic powder.
10. 1 green onion cut to 2 inch long pieces.

Directions :
Mix tempura flour, corn flour, water, garlic powder, and soy sauce until well combined.
Add mussles and set aside.
In a pan add oil on medium heat. Add mussles mixer.  Spread it over the pan and add egg.
Cook both sides until golden brown and crispy (use spatula to cut it to small pieces)
Set cooked mussle on one side of the pan. Add beensprouts and green onion. Turn stove off.
Serve cooked mussle over beensprouts. Sprinkle with pepper (white or black).
Serve with hot and sweet sauce on the side. Enjoy!

Mussles Sauce :
2 Tbsp Sriracha sauce
1 Tbsp Sweet chili sauce
1 tsp vinegar
- Mix all ingredients.
