Soy sauce Chicken (ไก่ต้มซอสถั่วเหลือง)

This recipe is easy and budget friendly. You can feed the family of 4 with 1 whole chicken.I like to save money, I would buy chicken when it's on sale and freeze them for later.

Ingredients :
1. 1 whole chicken
2. 5 cloves of garlic (smashed).
3. Small bunch of cilantro.
4. 8 Tbsp of soy sauce.
5. 1 Tbsp of black soy sauce.
6. 1 Tbsp of fish sauce (optional).
7. 1 cube of chicken base seasoning.
8. 1 Tbsp of whole peppercorn.
9. 1 gallon of water.

Directions :
1 Put all ingredients in a big pot. Bring to a boil and then simmer for 45 minutes.
2. Cut into bite size and serve with dipping sauce.
Dipping sauce.
1. 2 Tbsp. of chopped Thai chili pepper.
2. 1 Tbsp of chopped garlic.
3. 3 Tbsp of fish sauce.
4. 3 Tbsp of lime juice.
5. 1 Tbsp of palm sugar.
6. 1 Tbsp of chopped cilantro.
Mix all the ingredients then serve on the side.

Stir fried Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. ผัดคะน้าหมูกรอบ

Stir fried Chinese broccoli with crispy pork. ผัดคะน้าหมูกรอบ

This dish is a quickly stir fried which vegetable still have some crunchiness.


Ingredients :
2 cups of crispy pork
3 cups of Chinese broccoli (cut to bite size about 1 1/2 inch
1 Tbsp of chopped garlic
1/2 Tbsp of Thai chili (smashed)
2 Tbsp of vegetable oil
2 Tbsp of oyster sauce
1 Tbsp of soysauce
1 Tbsp of seasoning sauce
1 Tbsp of black soy sauce
1 tsp of sugar.

Directions:
Put oil in hot pan on medium high heat, add garlic, and other ingredients then quickly stir for a few more minutes. Turn stove off then serve with cooked white rice.

Tod Mun Pla ทอดมันปลา


Tod mun pla (Fried fish cake) ทอดมันปลา

This dish is one of my favorite appetizers and easy to make too. It's a very popular dish among Thai people.

Ingredients :
14 oz of leatherback fish meat.
2 Tbsp of red curry paste.
1 tsp of fish sauce.
1 tsp of soy sauce.
1/2 tsp of sugar.
2 Tbsp of corn starch.
1/2 cup greenbeen (cut to small pieces)
1/4 cup kafirr lime leaves (cut to very fine pieces).
2 cups vegetable oil.

Directions :
1. Put fish meat, curry paste, fish sauce, soy sauce and sugar in mortar and pestle then pound it until very sticky. ( or put in blender until sticky).
2. Put the mixed in a bowl, add the greenbeens, and kafirr lime leaves until combined.
3. Heat oil in a pan on medium low heat. Form the mixed into small patties and fry until golden brown.
4. Serve with sweet chili sauce and cucumber. Yum!
